Обязательбо добейтесь того, чобы взяли с детьми его возраста, не младше. Нам в одной школе отказали по результатам тестов, в другой взяли.

Все только на английском. Что-то типа математики могут дать писменно. Может будет присутствовать переводчик - если есть русский в школе. Но этого бояться не надо, главное чтобы ребенок не растерялся. Лучше если у него будет пара месяцев тут взять язык. Мой 9-ти летний сын 2 месяца смотрел мультики и ходил в летний лагерь.

If parents don't drive him to school - he may have a 40-50 minutes ride depending on Exact location within district where family settles... but it maybe all worth it...

Basically, majority of Wheeling and cook county buffalo grove is in District 21.
District has about a dozen schools, russian program is in one school only

Small part of Wheeling near Palatine Rd is in district 23 ... there is only one elementary school for that area...
Lake Count Buffalo Grove - several number of school districts, district 102 has 2 elementary schools - both have russian speaking speech/special education specialists

If child is coming from russian and is good with math - they may consider getting him/her into 4th grade...
English is to be learned by that child anyway, Math is FAR beyond...

Если есть понимание работы медбрата - то это самое надежное. Но далеко не каждый человек способен на такую работу - очень тяжелая. Лично я выбрал бы -HVACR

Amazingly, D21 has highest taxing rate of all nearby districts while having only one Super for about a dozen of schools ( super salary often is double of teachers...) How can that be ?

Mi zhiviom v Wheelinge. Moia dochka hodila v nachalnuy shkolu Edgar Allan Poe. Mne ochen ponravilas eta shkola. V shkole 2-yazichnoe obuchenie. Prepodavateli ochen horoshie. Moia dochko horosho chitaet na russkom i angliskom. I razgovarivaet na 2-x iazikah.

Всё-бы хорошо [два языка] но есть одно НО в этих школах занижена программа.В комп.будет это занесено что ваш ребёнок учил.по упрощён.прогр.и учить будут соответсв.Поэтому идите в норм амер.школу там ребёнку пред.дополн.занятия по языку.Обязательно в класс по возрасту .

Friday night, Whitman Elem School in Wheeling (beyond Fresh farm) had a family dance - IT was amazing, not only all kids dressed up and danced but teachers and parents dressed up as well. WOW, i think that school has the MOST FUN teachers...
Family dance was done by professional disk-jockey couple who as a parents volunteer time and equipment for the event...
I don't remember when I saw a joy on teacher faces attending school event in other schools...

AYP is actually well defined.... Unless, state reverses ISAT for ESL students back to IMAGE version - it is very possible not to make AYP progress, I believe Glenbrook North this year was cited as not making AYP because of students with disabilities not scoring as expected...

This year D21 accepted No Child Left Beyond Funds
After ESL students took regular ISAT test - Whitman scores went below 50%, I guess board figured out it can't get any lower... and can only improve from that point on..
Of course, you also have to remember that most of board members represent West Side of the districts
Did you know that area north of Dundee around Wolf and West of Milwaukee was redistricted to Field School/London Middle School ? Guess who of board members lives in that area ?
