Dear Ukrainian-Americans,

When I called the White House to voice my opinion about the Ukrainian election, the first question the operator asked me was, "What state are you from?" When I told her New Jersey, I realized that my plea for President Bush to recognize Viktor Yushchenko as the rightful winner of the election would not carry as much weight as those coming from strategically important states.

So I urge all Ukrainian-Americans, but especially those in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Wisconsin, and Michigan, to either call or email President Bush with the same request. The contact information can be found at: http://www.whitehouse.gov/contact/. Your efforts will make an appreciable difference.
