Is the worst russian restaurant I have been to. They promise a lot of food, but give very small portions- feels like they put food for 6 people instead of 10 which was there. For example: Pelmeni- two small plates were served with approximately 6 pc each. And that is supposed to feed 10 people?
Can anyone share the same experience as me? Smile

Kukla: Somehow, they have survived already for 10 years. I guess, people use them for small private parties, especially for older people. Music is good, but food is very steep.... Smile

They are all about the same. We were at Bait and while it was ok (while not having great expectations), they still managed to screw us over on some things. This is the way these businesses are. They don't put all of the package items on the table since it's likely no one will notice and if they do, they can always say they forgot and bring it out but why waste the money if 99% won't care? They promise you the booze that's supposedly included but you likely bring your own and they never bother putting the included bottles on the table or reminding you to take them home if they weren't used.

The pelmeni is supposed to be an appetizer, not the main course, so if you go to a restaurant for pelmeni, call dyadya Grisha and he'll bring you 100 or them for $7, so you can have your pelmeni feast at home Smile

They charge each party $200 for "live" music which consists of about 15 (at most) pre-recorded songs that they sometimes sing along to....but we go, we pay and we enjoy Smile

Thanks, Reina. We had the same experience with liquor. They "forgot" to put shampagne on the tables as well. Untill, we have reminded them and that was towards the end of the party.(nobody have noticed because they were drinking vodka, which we brought.
Even if pelmeni suppose to be an appetiser, 1 pc per person still not enough. Besides, when people have nothing else decent to eat at the table.... Smile

I like Kiril's singing. At least it is better than to hear Zhanna at the Versailles...... Wink

Is Versailles still open? Petergoff too? The reason is that the owners were charged with mail & bank fraud in June/ July & were indicted by the US Atnys Ofc. Anyone heard if these places would be open in the long term? If they won't be able to prove their innocence, then these 2 places probably would close sooner or later.

From all of these "russian" restaurants- food is better in La Mirage, Music in Peterghoff. Smile

In all honesty though, the best russian restaurant is Tatyana in Miami...none of our "crap" even comes close. Quality, consistency, room, etc....not even comparable to what we have here.

Yes, her mom and son live in Miami. My parents went to Tatyana yesterday in New York and it delicious and packed (on Wednesday!). Smile

The reason people go is that these are the only places that give a sense of real celebration with music, dancing, people dressing up, etc. Going to dinner anywhere else just doesn't do that...
