Good morning, is anyone interested in registering your child for the following after school classes at Prairie Elementary School in Buffalo Grove : Mad Science or Young Rembrandts or Sunshine Crafts ?
more information about each below or at http://www.bgparkdistrict.org/pr_youthgeneral.htm
if your child attends Prairie school like mine does then the timing might work perfectly for you - they're held right after school ends.
I was hoping to register my daughter for Mad Science and Young Rembrandts sessions but I was told that these sessions will be cancelled tomorrow due to low interest - unless ther are more people registering. If 4 more people register then the classes will be available.
here is more info about classes:
Mad Science is a class filled with fun, spectacular, hands-on science experiments! Some of the cool, new, hands-on science topics will include Glow Show, Ph Phactor, Lab Works and more. Each young scientist will be able to make some fun take home projects too, including a Blacklight Writer, Graduated Gear Kit, Atomic Coins and many others. All materials are included and instructors are provided by Mad Science of Northern Illinois.
Fridays April 13 - June 1 No Class May 25 Back Hallway From 3:05 - 4:05 p.m. (after school at Prairie School) Classes are: Fee: $114 for an 7 week session
----------------------------------------------------------
At Young Rembrandts, we teach drawing, the fundamental skill of visual arts. We believe that drawing is a skill that can, and should, be learned by all children. While Young Rembrandts classes are structured and educational, children learn best when they are entertained and engaged. Young Rembrandts combines the best of both worlds. Foundational art skills in a fun, nurturing environment, that gives your child the academic advantage.
Tuesdays From 3:05 - 4:05 p.m. Back Hallway (Directly after school at Prairie) April 10 - May 29 Fee: $71 for an 6 week session
----------------------------------------------------------
We begin with an introduction to primary and blended colors with the students creating their own tie dye shirts, which are used as painting smocks for the remainder of the term. During the session the kids will be exposed to pottery painting using acrylics. Different concepts will be demonstrated each week as students investigate the many aspects of color, brushstrokes, sponging, dry-brushing, texturing, shading and more. Kids will come home with great self-esteem, confidence, and a love of art, as well as cool, colorful projects. Later sessions will build on these processes with the kids creating recycled art projects, and by the final session they will create a 'green' ceramic bowl, plate or mug, which will be fired and used forever at home. All finished art pieces will be glazed and glitter sparkled as selected by each painter and taken home at the end of the lesson. All art materials and painting smocks provided and are nontoxic, odorless and latex free.
Thursday April 12 - May 31 From 3:05 - 4:05 p.m. (after school at Prairie) Fee: $137 for a 8 week session
