Important Message regarding;
Dr.Dennis Shields and chain mail about girl with cancer.
The message is a hoax.
The American Cancer Society has repeatedly denied any knowledge or involvement with this message.
Dr. Dennis Sheilds is a faculty member at AECOM and he does have an e-mail address.
However, information received from earlier complaints show that his name was signed to the message but it was not sent from his e-mail address.
This suggests that this message is a forgery.
The best way to deal with these nuisance letters is to
a) ignore them or
b) send a message back to the person who most directly sent you the message.
In other words, although Dr. Sheilds name was signed to the main part of the message, I am willing to bet it reached you after being forwarded several times and someone you know sent you the copy.
Complain to the person you know. If that e-mail address turns out to be fake (i.e. you get a message back telling you so) then complain to the administrator of the host machine
(for example, if the message was sent to you by bogus@hotmail.com and that turns out to be a bad address, complain to postmaster@hotmail.com).
If you got the message because you belong to a mailing list, complain to the person managing the mailing list.
