guys !!! do we still have to have that box??? or can i put an antenna instead ? when can i get it for free ?

If you have digital TV (like Comcast, etc) provider, you do not need anything. If you had free TV, then you need a converter box to convert analog to digital signal AND an antenna to receive that signal

If you had an antenna before, keep it, then only get the box at Walmart for 40$ or so, of on Craigslist for, like 25$

You will have about 25 free channels, some local news, and few others. No fancy stuff though

thank you for comment. I guess i still need to get that box. I dont watch TV, but sometimes I would like to watch news...

You don't need an antenna for the roof Just buy a small antenna (10$ or so) for the room, attach to TV and to cable going outside (should be in every apartment), and that's it.
