As far as I know urine test should do the trick. It's quick, painless and can be administered on the spot

urine test may show THC, but it won't show how recently the person was using the substance. Especially for regular weed smokers, THC can stay in their body for a month.

Exactly my point... such rules are in place for all truck drivers - ANY drugs or Alcohol in the system - you're out, doesn't matter how long ago you've taken them. Period.

Elementary Grazhdanka: the field sobriety test! Who said that THC blood level must be the one and only criteria?!!!
Any physical impairment could be tested- for ANY SUBSTANCE. It will be for the legislatures of each state to work out the standards, requirements and procedures.

Это верный подход. То есть раз концентрацию конопли трудно определить в крови, нужны чёткие правила то есть усиленное наказание за любую концентрацию во время вождения.
А так запрещать, сажать миллионы невинных людей, разводить и укреплять наркомафию это скотство со стороны правительства и их поддерживающих.

Я полностью согласен с Психом. Drunk driving kills, накурки тоже, текстанье туда же, звиздеш по мобильнику, makeup(!) while driving - same thing. Let's ban it - траву, алкоголь, телефоны и липстики с тушью - they are all deadly thing when mixed with cars.

Freedom from jail to save tax payers money. Labor Cams to do Good Deeds for Society: bridges, cleaning, snow plowing, river damps, you name it. Labor Camps: look at it as if "cage free chicken". They cannot be set free, yet they can walk around allowed perimeter, talk to others and make their Good Deeds contributions to Society as a Whole. I think that labor camps changes people for the better, changes them on physical, emotional, psychological, mental and physiological levels: more stamina, endurance, cleans the brains out, but if not they they die. Relieves US obligations to upkeep our jails from drug offenders, thieves, Bank & Insurance fraudsters.

Psix, for your record, jail is good only for child abusers, murderers, serial killers, etc.. sex offenders, some big ticker Criminal Crimes. However, civil crimes or not dangerous criminal crimes would do so much better in labor camps. We cannot waste our resources in overcrowded jails. If someone robs a bank, or financial fraud, insurance fraud, drugs, etc.. it's so much better to use their skills and labor manually for society good. They can use their collective brain power to build bridges, river damps, cars, rail road tracks.. Why not? It's a punishment for their civil & criminal crimes. We cannot place every single offender in jail Murderers, rapists, child abusers, serial killers go to jail. But many others to labor camps. Nothing wrong with that & it'll prevent more of the same form others too.

Should I even break it to him that prison and labor camps are practically the same? Should I tell them that there is, sadly, a thriving prison labor system in the US?
Should I even bother telling him that each citizen is NOT the property of the state or "society" obligated to work for the benefit of his "owner."

if someone uses drugs.. let them do so with only one Free treatment option for each user in a lifetime. A system based on personal info, such as Feds ID system. After one free lifetime treatment, they're on their own to pay out of pocket or continue to use it at their own risk. No jail time for drug offenders, unless they provide it or sell it to minors. Others, such as crooks, fraudsters etc.. can do jail time, but instead wasting taxpayers money and resources they can do Labor Camps instead of jail time. Labor Camps would certainly do social, physical, mental and psychological metamorphosis vs. jail time alone. People with White Collar Crimes do not understand jail time as much as Labor Camps. They do not understand fines at all vs. jail time. So jail only for hard core offenders, such as child abuse, sex offenders, serial killers, murderers, etc.. Everyone one else pretty much for Labor Camps to do good deeds for society. They must serve jail time for civil and criminal crimes, so instead of wasting taxpayers money, how about Labor Camps so the Feds and State save money vs. spending money.
Everyone knows already that Ded semi-silently supports crooks, fraudsters, etc.. and pretty much again jail time, etc.. and even fines. His "modus operandi" intervention for crooks, drug offenders, fraudsters, firearms sellers, bank robbers, Insurance fraud is like "oh, prove it, oh where, oh who, etc.." Even when there indisputable facts, records, evidence, etc.. by say DOJ, or OIG, or AG office, etc.. Ded, stays semi-silent and non-involved. No wonder he supports so much the corrupted Oligarhs in Russia, who are White Collar Crime fraudsters and crooked as a tree.
