At least 2 dead, 6 wounded in shootings Friday

At least two people were killed and six wounded in shootings in Chicago Friday, the first day of summer.
About 8 p.m., a man in his 20s and three other people were found shot in the 2900 block of North Kilpatrick Avenue. The man died later at Stroger Hospital and the three others were in critical condition, authorities said.
On the 2800 block of North Spaulding Avenue a little after 8 p.m., two people were reported shot, according to the Fire Department.
Police had few immediate details, but confirmed that at 8:08 p.m. two men, both 37, were wounded on Spaulding. One man shot in the chest was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center with a serious wound, according to Police News Affairs.
The other victim, who police said was wounded in the lower leg and with a graze wound to the head, was taken to Stroger Hospital of Cook County in serious-to-critical condition, according to the Fire Department.
One of those victims might have died of his wounds, according to two sources, but the death was not officially confirmed as of about 10 p.m. Friday.
A man was shot to death in the West Garfield Park neighborhood this afternoon, wounded in the head and abdomen in the 4400 block of West Adams Street about 1:31 p.m., said Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Veejay Zala.
The man was identified as Vincent Mayes, 31, of the first block of North Laramie Avenue, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office. He was declared dead on the scene at 1:58 p.m., and appeared to have suffered multiple gunshot wounds, according to the medical examiner's office.
The victim was dead on the scene. No additional information was available from News Affairs regarding the circumstances of the slaying.
Mayes turned 31 two weeks ago, according to court and Illinois Department of Corrections records.
Mayes had pleaded guilty on June 11 in a 2012 felony drug case, and was sentenced to three years in prison. But because he had been in jail since his arrest in early 2012, he was credited with 598 days in jail, and after he was admitted to the custody of the Illinois Department of Corrections on June 13, he was released on parole the same day, according to court and corrections department records.
About 6:30 p.m., a 37-year-old woman was shot in the ankle in the 8100 block of South Drexel Avenue and was taken to Jackson Park Hospital in good condition, Zala said.

CHICAGO (STMW) – Five men were killed and at least 28 other people were wounded in shootings across the city since Friday evening.
The first fatal shooting occurred in the Belmont Cragin neighborhood on the Northwest Side about 7:50 p.m. Four people were sitting on a porch in the 2900 block of North Kilpatrick Avenue when an unknown male approached on foot and opened fire, police said.
A 21-year-old man died a short time later at John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County from multiple gunshot wounds to the body, police said. The Cook County Medical Examiner’s office identified the man as Renee Soto of the 2900 block of North Kilpatrick Avenue.
Other injuries sustained in the shooting included a 17-year-old girl shot in the side of the head, a 30-year-old man shot in the back and a 28-year-old man shot in the arm and side, police said. All three were listed in “stable” condition at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, police said.
Fire Media Affairs said all of the people wounded were in critical condition.
About 20 minutes later, a 36-year-old man was killed and a 37-year-old man was critically wounded in a shooting in the 2800 block of North Spaulding Avenue in the Logan Square neighborhood.
One man was shot in the chest and taken in serious-to-critical condition to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, authorities said. The other man was shot in the back of the head and the leg and taken to an area hospital.
According to police, an unknown male suspect emerged from two parked cars on Spaulding and opened fire on the two.
The Cook County Medical Examiner’s office said Uriel Guadarramo, 36, of the 2800 block of North Spaulding Avenue, died at Masonic at 8:44 p.m.
One man was killed and two others were wounded about 4:30 p.m. Saturday in a drive-by shooting in the South Chicago neighborhood.
The shooting occurred in the 8600 block of South Kingston Avenue, police said.
Carl Austin, 20, of the 8600 block of South Kingston Avenue, was dead at the scene, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.
A 29-year-old man was also shot in the chest and a 26-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to the wrist, police said. They were taken in serious condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, according to Fire Media Affairs.
The men shot had gang affiliations, police said.
One man was killed and another was wounded in a shooting about 9:20 p.m. Sunday in the South Shore neighborhood, police said. Two men were sitting in a vehicle in the 1500 block of East 76th Place when three males approached and fired into the vehicle, police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said. The two victims got out of the car and ran, Alfaro said.
Justin Jackson, 22, suffered a gunshot wound to the left side and was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he died at 10:06 p.m., authorities said.
Another man, 26, was discovered in the 7600 block of South South Chicago Avenue with graze wounds to the head and shoulder, Alfaro said. He was listed in “stable” condition at Jackson Park Hospital.
Area South detectives are questioning three persons of interest in connection with the attack, police said.
The most recent fatal shooting happened about 11:25 p.m. Sunday, when a man was shot multiple times in the Southwest Side McKinley Park neighborhood. Eduardo Venagas, 18, was shot in the 3300 block of South Bell Avenue, a block from where he lived, authorities said.
Police said Venegas was standing on the sidewalk when two males approached on foot and fired shots. He was struck in the chest and shoulder, and taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital, where he died at 11:59 p.m., authorities said.
The most recent non-fatal shooting happened about 11:50 p.m. Sunday in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood, police said. A male suffered a gunshot wound to the foot in the 7400 block of South Langley Avenue and was taken to Saint Bernard Hospital. Further details were not immediately available.
About 10:45 p.m., a man was walking down the street in the 6100 block of South Throop Street in West Englewood when a gunman approached on foot and opened fire, police said. The man, 29, was struck in the back and left leg and taken to Stroger in “stable” condition.
About 10:40 p.m. in Englewood, a 22-year-old man was shot at least twice in the head in the 6100 block of South Ashland Avenue, police said. He was taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County in critical condition.
About 6:30 a.m. Sunday in Englewood, a 42-year-old man was shot in the left arm and chest in the 5600 block of South Emerald Avenue, police said. He was taken in critical condition to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County.
About 5:35 a.m., 32-year-old woman walked into the University of Illinois Medical Center at Chicago with a gunshot wound to the buttocks, police said. The victim and a 32-year-old man were sitting on the front porch of a home in the 1400 block of West 17th Street when an unknown gunman approached on foot and opened fire before fleeing. The man suffered a graze wound to the left thigh and refused medical treatment. The woman was later transferred to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County in “stable” condition.
About 5:10 a.m., a man was shot in the Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side, police said. The man, 39, was shot multiple times in the 3800 block of West Grenshaw Street and taken in serious condition to Mount Sinai Hospital.
Also about 5:10 a.m., a man walked in to Norwegian-American Hospital with a gunshot wound to the right arm, police said. The man, 20, claimed to have been shot in the 3400 block of West North Avenue.
Police said the man has gang affiliations. He was listed in good condition early Sunday.
About 3:30 a.m., a teen boy was shot in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood. The boy was walking down the sidewalk near South Langley Avenue and East 78th Street when he “heard shots and felt pain,” police said.
The 16-year-old was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn with gunshot wounds to the abdomen and arm, police said.
About 3:08 a.m., a man walked in to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County with gunshot wounds to the left knee and right leg, police said. The man, 25, told police he was shot in the 1200 block of West Washburne Avenue. He was listed in “stable” condition early Sunday.
About 3 a.m., two men were shot in the East Garfield Park neighborhood, police said. They were in the 2700 block of West Harrison Street when they saw a group of males approach and start shooting. A 23-year-old man was shot in the arm and a 20-year-old was shot in the right knee.
Both were taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital in “stable” condition, police said.
About 12:50 a.m. in the South Side Morgan Park neighborhood, an 18-year-old man was shot in the leg in the 10900 block of South Throop Street, police said. He was taken to Little Company of Mary Hospital in “stable” condition.
Saturday night in the Woodlawn neighborhood, a man was shot while walking down the sidewalk, police said.
The man, 26, was walking in the 6110 block of South Vernon Avenue about 11:50 p.m. when he heard gunfire and realized he had been shot in the right forearm, police said. He was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center in good condition.
About 8:40 p.m. Saturday, a man was shot while riding in a vehicle in the Rogers Park neighborhood on the city’s North Side, police said.
The man, 23, was riding in a vehicle with other people in the 6600 block of North Ashland Avenue when several other males pulled up in another vehicle and shot at him, police said. He was shot three times in the abdomen. No one else was injued.
He was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, where he was listed in serious but “stable” condition early Sunday, police said.
About 4:20 a.m., a male whose age wasn’t immediately known was shot in the 5000 block of South Winchester Avenue in the Back of the Yards neighborhood.
He suffered a graze wound to the back. He was taken to Holy Cross Hospital in good condition where he later refused treatment, police said.
At 2:53 a.m., a 24-year-old man was shot in the arm in the 1500 block of South Christiana Avenue. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition, police said.
Less than a half hour earlier, a 19-year-old man was shot in the arm and abdomen in the West Englewood neighborhood. He was taken to Stroger Hospital in “stable” condition, police said.
About 11:15 p.m. Friday, a 25-year-old man was injured in a drive-by shooting in the in the 1600 block of North McVicker Avenue, police said.
According to police, a dark-colored vehicle pulled up next to the man and fired, striking him in the arm. He was taken to West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park in “stable” condition.
About 15 minutes earlier, a 22-year-old man was shot in the leg in the 8800 block of South Exchange Avenue in the South Chicago neighborhood, police said. He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in “stable” condition.
About 10:12 p.m., a male was shot twice in the 4000 block of West Fillmore Street in the North Lawndale neighborhood. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital with a graze wound to the head and a gunshot wound to the ankle, although his condition and his age were not immediately known, police said.
Earlier in the Chatham neighborhood, a 37-year-old woman was shot in the ankle about 6:30 p.m. in the 8100 block of South Drexel Avenue and taken to Jackson Park Hospital in good condition, police said.

Несомненно колега. Говорят в Магадишо сейчас погоды стоят - просто сказочные. Асобенна в тех райских местах, чуден запах пороха и горелава мяса смешивающевася в воздухе с утренним бризом прилетающим с океана. Если бы не канонада на подступах и отдельные взрывы в самом городе, то можно было бы с уверенностью вносить ето место в список чудес света.
