DIESEL SHOP in GURNEE IL is looking for a
SHOP FOREMAN/LEAD DIESEL MECHANIC MANAGER work in the diesel repair shop!
📝 Required:
-3-5 years of experience in diesel mechanics and management
-Maintain Class A CDL
-Supervise and train lower-level mechanics and technicians
-Perform work as assigned
-Keep shop clean and organized
-Help lower-level technicians diagnose and troubleshoot
-Map out work procedures using technical manuals and charts
-Read and interpret diagnostic test results to identify problems and determine the solution
Inspect and replace various parts of vehicles, including transmissions, engines, steering mechanisms and brake systems, while following checklists to ensure all important parts are examined
-Perform basic maintenance and care, including tire rotations, oil changes and checking fluid levels
-Test drive vehicles to ensure everything is working properly
-Keep accurate logs on work and issues
-Perform Mobile/Roadside service
-Perform DOT inspections
-Fulfill service manager position when service manager is sick/vacation
-Document all work performed via “Full bay”
-Work closely with Service manager to maintain daily shop workflow
- Strong work ethic and ability to safely work in fast-paced environment, handle difficult customer complaints
-Advise parts specialist of parts to maintain in inventory
📌 Experience:
Management: 2+ years (Required)
Diesel Mechanics: 5+ years (Required)
Class A CDL (Required)
