Join Our Team as a Manager of Safety Department
This role focuses on smooth functioning of the Safety Department, to establish, execute, and uphold comprehensive safety programs, policies, and training initiatives. Develop and maintain safety policies and procedures according to company standards. Oversee the inspection of all vehicles, equipment to ensure compliance with safety regulations. Monitor driver performance through analysis of safety reports.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and enforce safety policies, training, and compliance standards.
Ensure that company hires skilled drivers
Manage all vehicles and equipment meet safety and inspection standards and maintain required permits and insurance.
Prepare for audits, maintain documentation, and ensure alignment with FMCSA regulations.
Manage accident investigations, claims, and roadside inspections to mitigate risks.
Set performance goals, conduct training, and support junior staff to achieve department objectives.
General requirements:
Minimum of 3 years of Safety Department experience
In-depth understanding of DOT regulations, particularly regarding DQ files and driver hiring standards.
Previous experience in running safety department for the trucking company
Strong interpersonal skills to manage conflicts, inspire teams, and align with company goals.
Ability to manage details, organize, and complete tasks efficiently.
