Lombard, IL located trucking company is seeking a sharp, detail-oriented Fleet Manager to oversee our dry van fleet operations.
The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and confident CDL holder, managing both drivers and equipment with full compliance to USDOT regulations.
🔧Responsibilities:
* Assign and receive trucks, monitor driver dispatch and return
* Oversee vehicle condition, repairs, and breakdown coordination
* Ensure all equipment has proper permits, insurance, and documentation
* Conduct driver orientation before over-the-road assignments
* Manage maintenance schedules and vendor coordination
* Perform accurate data entry and track fleet-related expenses
* Review, verify, and approve invoices before payment
* Optimize operational spending and fleet efficiency
* Ensure 100% compliance with **USDOT** regulations, inspections, and safety standards
✅Requirements:
* Experience managing dry van or similar truck fleets
* Strong understanding of FMCSA and USDOT compliance
* Solid organizational and multitasking skills
* Confident handling driver interactions and vendor negotiations
* Proficiency in fleet management software and spreadsheets
