🚛 Safety Manager / Logbook Specialist Wanted

We are a stable and growing trucking company with offices in South Elgin and Joliet, IL. We are looking for an experienced Safety Manager / Logbook Specialist to join our team and help manage driver compliance, ELD logs, DOT requirements, inspections, and safety-related operations.
This position is a great fit for someone who understands trucking compliance, driver logbooks, DOT/FMCSA rules, and the importance of keeping the company and drivers safe, compliant, and organized.

🔹 Responsibilities:
• Monitor and audit driver ELD logbooks daily.
• Check Hours of Service compliance and prevent violations.
• Communicate with drivers regarding logbook corrections and missing information.
• Review DVIRs, inspections, violations, and safety-related documents.
• Help drivers stay compliant with DOT/FMCSA regulations.
• Track CDL, medical card, annual inspection, registration, insurance, and permit expirations.
• Maintain safety files and driver qualification files.
• Assist with roadside inspections, violations, warnings, and corrective actions.
• Work with dispatch, maintenance, and management to prevent compliance issues.
• Follow up on accidents, claims, inspections, and safety incidents.
• Help improve company safety score and overall compliance performance.

✅ Requirements:
• Experience in trucking safety, logbooks, or DOT compliance preferred.
• Knowledge of ELD systems and Hours of Service rules.
• Understanding of DOT/FMCSA regulations.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow up with drivers.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work with drivers professionally and respectfully.
• Experience with safety audits, inspections, and driver files is a plus.
• Bilingual English/Russian is a plus, but not required.
