This is a senior-level role overseeing safety and compliance across multiple transportation companies under single ownership. The Safety Compliance Manager holds full responsibility for ensuring that all safety, documentation, and regulatory standards are met and maintained — without delay.
Core Responsibilities: • Full responsibility of all safety-related operations across the organizations. Tasks must be completed proactively, without reminders. • Maintain and manage all insurance policies across all entities. Renewals must begin at least 60 days before expiration. No lapse or delay is acceptable.
• Oversee claims, violations, and tickets to maintain a low safety score across all companies.
• Maintain accurate, current records for: → Driver qualification files → MVRs, DOT compliance → ELD systems → Permits, licenses, and company credentials
• Monitor and manage GPS systems and onboard cameras.
→ Maintain an up-to-date inventory of all trucks and trailers.
→ Ensure that no equipment is unaccounted for or misplaced.
• Provide weekly reports covering all major activities, risks, and compliance actions. → Immediate reporting is required for urgent or high-risk matters.
• Supervise up to 4 support staff in the safety department.
→ The manager is responsible for their output, performance, and task organization.
• Maintain direct communication with the general manager
All key decisions and issues must be escalated appropriately — without delay or filtering.
• Ensure all companies are fully prepared for DOT audits at any time. → Documentation, procedures, and systems must always be audit-ready. → The Safety Manager is responsible for organizing and maintaining this level of readiness.
Key Qualities Required: • High sense of responsibility, discipline, and leadership • Strong skills in organization, reporting, and team coordination • Proactive, self-managed, and results-driven • Experienced in DOT compliance and audit preparation
