Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly organized and proactive Safety Assistant to support our safety and compliance team in maintaining a safe and legally compliant trucking operation. This role is essential in helping monitor driver safety, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring our company meets all regulatory requirements, including DOT standards.

Key Responsibilities:
Assist in maintaining driver qualification files and ensure they are DOT-compliant (e.g., medical cards, MVRs, licenses).

Track and log Hours of Service (HOS) records, ensuring compliance with FMCSA regulations.

Help coordinate and document safety training, meetings, and certifications.

Monitor and report on safety violations, incidents, and accidents.

Assist in conducting internal audits of safety files and logs.

Support post-accident processes, including documentation, drug/alcohol testing coordination, and follow-up.

Maintain records of vehicle inspections, maintenance, and repairs as they relate to safety compliance.

Help prepare for DOT audits or roadside inspection reviews.

Assist with implementing safety programs and driver coaching initiatives.

Serve as a point of contact for drivers regarding safety-related concerns or documentation needs.
