Reina, it is common in medical terminology -osteo (bone), -chondro (cartilage), - osis (inflammation). There are many other problems with bones and cartilage tissue, though. Sometimes one disease is called something else in common language (misconception), but this will not be correct usage. So be sure osteochondrosis is what you mean it is.
