How soon after getting your work authorization do you get green card? Does it make sense not to apply for work permit and just wait until I get green card? ( to save those "300 something "$) ?

While filing I-485 (Adjustment of Status) and I-765 (Request fro Work Authorization) simultaneously, the request for work authorization i filed for free. Yes it does make sense to apply for one. You will only get both green card and work authorization together if everything goes good and there is no complications with you adjustment of status. But if they need some additional evidence etc, green card issuance may take very long time. At least you will have wok authorization and may look for a job you want.
