Police were called July 8 to a home on the 600 block of Weidner Road, where the resident said he discovered someone had taken a safe from his upstairs bedroom sometime that day. The safe weighed between 200 and 250 pounds and stood 20 inches high by 24 inches wide. It contained the resident's and his late wife's birth certificates, their marriage license, the home closing papers, two rings valued at $250 and gift cards, valued at $1,000. Police found no signs of forced entry; one resident said she had seen a rear patio door open when she came in, although the patio screen door was closed.
