A large landscape company located in the far northern suburbs is seeking to fill an open role of fleet Mechanic. This is a full-time position, working in a 3-bay heated shop.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Service large, Ford truck fleet and equipment as required to ensure proper operating condition.
• Perform safety inspections and preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Maintain clean and safe work environment.
Qualifications:
• Must be diesel and hydraulic qualified.
• Must be familiar with electrical systems.
• Must be able to work on all types of vehicles and equipment (must have experience with skid steers and related equipment).
• Scanner troubleshooting preferred.
• CDL license preferred, but not required.
• Ability to drive company vehicles for service (good driving record).
• Possess good communication skills to effectively communicate with managers.
• Must have their own tools for use at shop.
• Meet all company and governmental safety requirements.
• Must have the ability to use abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time.
• Must be able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
• Must be capable of lifting and moving objects weighing 80 to 90 pounds multiple times throughout the work day.
• Skid loader experience a plus
• Bilingual a plus, but not required.
