Vertical Works Inc. - Utopian Villas - Riemer Remodel is currently seeking an experienced Drywall Finisher & Painter. This position is for someone who has high passions for all phases of drywall work and painting in residential construction and is looking for a career that will provide long term, full time, indoor year-round employment. This role can range from hanging and finishing drywall, priming and painting, trim and door painting, and staining and clear coats to trim and cabinets. The ideal candidate must have a solid background in this role.
You will have the opportunity to work on modular homes, modular additions, golf studios, luxury travel trailers, luxury tiny homes, and all types of residential remodeling projects.

OBJECTIVES:
● Layout, cutting, and installation of drywall on both walls and ceilings ● Installation of different types in cornerbeads and trims both plastic and metal ● Taping and finishing of drywall using automatic taper, finishing boxes, banjo, and hand knifes ● Provide different levels of finish through a Level 5 finish ● Spray sand, knockdown and custom finishes ● Spray different types of latex paint including vapor barrier, primer, surfacer, and finish paint ● Putty, caulk, and sand different types of millwork and trim both painted and stained ● Spray or hand paint different trims and cabinets ● Spray different types of clear coats on stained wood ● Maintain a high level of quality, keep the shop and all job sites clean and organized at all times in order to eliminate potential hazards and comply with company standards ● Must have a desire to learn new skills, techniques, and continuously grow ● Willing and able to perform both familiar and unfamiliar drywall and painting tasks
COMPETENCIES:
● Strong knowledge and experience of all phases of drywall and painting ● Strong knowledge and experience using different types of primers, paints, stains, lacquers, etc ● Effective and knowledgeable use of texture machines, airless sprayers, HVLP, and all hand related tools such as drywall knifes, paint brushes, rollers, etc. ● A self-starter with the ability to multitask and work in a quality orientated and productive environment ● Be able to work independently with minimal supervision ● Strong attention to detail and time management skills to ensure we stay on track to meet individual task goals and company production deadlines ● Ability to cut in straight paint lines ● Excellent problem solving skills: proactively identify and resolve issues as soon as they arise ● Strong communication skills to effectively communicate with all customers, employees, and management ● Exceptional mechanical and critical thinking skills ● Ability to read and interpret documents such as construction plans, detailed drawings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
● GED or high school diploma preferred ● 10 or more years of experience in drywall and painting
PHYSICAL & OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
● Ability, but not limited to frequently lifting 20-75 pounds ● Must be able to frequently reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and be comfortable with heights of 16’+ ● Ability to be on your feet for 10 to 12 hours a day which will include terrain, uneven surfaces, ladders, stairs ● Job site travel may be required ● Valid driver’s license ● Pass a drug test and background check
