Full service restaurant and bar with a banquet facility, located in Western Racine County, is looking for a full-time Kitchen Manager/Head Cook .
We are looking for a committed outgoing individual interested in long term employment. Must be able to handle fast passed, high volume, work well alone and in a team setting.
General Managing Responsibilities: Answer & report to Owners Schedule the kitchen staff & dishwashers as needed each week for the business needs. Instruct and assign tasks for all kitchen staff & dishwashers Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers Training & hiring new staff as well as getting them up to speed Responsible for ordering, stocking and inventory of all fresh and frozen food items Preparing meals according to set standards and recipes for both our full service restaurant & our banquet facility. Helping in planning menus, and overseeing kitchen operations to ensure consistency & quality.
General Cooking Responsibilities • Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies for each shift • Prepare food for service with timely ticket times (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces, etc.) • Keep neat & organized work stations, kitchen areas • Stock inventory appropriately Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards Keeping the kitchen, walk in coolers both organized and clean
QUALIFICATIONS • Possess appropriate Wisconsin Food/Sanitation certifications • Minimum 2-3 years cook experience in a busy establishment • Must have excellent communication skills • High School Diploma or equivalent • Basic math skills • Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours)
Pay is commensurate with experience, but will pay more for great experience and positive attitude.
