A home health aide (HHA) helps clients maintain their health and hygiene in their homes.
Their duties include: Personal care: Assisting with daily tasks like bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding
Monitoring: Observing the client's physical and mental condition, intake and output, and exercise
Reporting: Notifying nursing supervisors of changes in the client's condition
Teaching: Teaching the client how to use a cane or walker, special utensils, and special techniques for personal hygiene
Documenting: Completing records to document care given and observations
Communicating: Communicating effectively with all members of the interdisciplinary team
Maintaining a safe environment: Maintaining a safe, secure, and healthy patient environment
