Companies need good drivers now more than ever. They like to flash higher than ever CPM offers to new drivers. But if you have two years good record driving, and you're smart, you'll drive on percentage for a Carrier that will show you the Rate Confirmation (shows the amount the Carrier book the load for) every load.
Many loads are booking for 4,000, 5,000, 6,7,and even over 8,000 in today's market. CPM companies paying drivers a flat rate are walking away with thousands, while the driver is doing the lionshare of the work for pennies.
I pay 35% after the fuel and have paid my drivers over $3,000 a week on multiple occasions. Not ever week is 2-3 thousand dollar weeks, but if you're a hustler, and want keep your earnings in the highest possible earning bracket, run on a percentage for a company that shows you every rate confirmation--like me. DESCRIPTION: Earn more working on percentage for a small Independent Trucking Company. We make full disclosure of how much the truck earns by sending our drivers the Rate Confirmation. We offer a clean good running 2013 Cascadia. Power Unit Only. Mostly Drop and Hook. Dry Van, Refrigerated, Flat Bed Step Deck, Over the Road opportunity. Driver earns .60 cpm to .90 cpm on most all loads. Driver paid within one week from Friday cut off. We avoid sending our driver into areas where winter hazards are imminent or New York City areas. We avoid sending our driver into areas where traffic congestion is too heavy and customer access is too limited. Although we are committed to doing everything possible to keep our drivers on the road and is willing to pay our driver breakdown pay if the truck is broke down for 24 hours over three day period, we're paying good because a driver that is not averse to or would avoid minor repairs that can get the truck to the nearest shop when needed. You are expected to have your own tools and know how to use them for minor repairs which may include: troubleshooting and replacing a fuse, a light, a wire, a leaking air line fitting, a fan belt, and other minor deficiencies that may occasionally need immediate attention. Driver also needs to do active inspections which does not include looking at the gauges and taking off. Driver is required to do a weekly hands-on inspection which includes a hand-written-results on many areas of the truck such as tire tread depth, tire psi pressures, brake condition report, fifth wheel uncouple and grease, lug nut checks, hub bolt and grease checks and more. If you do not want to generally inspect and upkeep the truck, do not apply for the job. Driver is also required to do a once in a quarter end to end under the truck inspection to ensure his truck has not developed a mechanical problem. We mostly only book light weight loads.
Qualifications: Senior Driver with 2 plus years safe CDL driving experience. Driver must effectively communicate available hours of drive time to dispatch before accepting a load and notify dispatcher if whether they can run a load that is given them. Driver must know how to maintain time sensitive readiness by performing critical Pre-Trip and Post Trip inspections.
