Okay this is the deal, this is not a friend of a
friend of a friend. This
actually happened to one of my best friends, and a
lot of you have met her.
So I know she is not making this story up.

I bought some russian candies in Arcadia deli on
Dundee & Buffalo Grove Rd.
There were some Plums in chocolate (which were hard as a rock and the
chocolate was crumbeling off) and there were
Belochka, and some other
kinds.═ They all tasted really stale and weird.
One of the other kinds (don't know what it;s called)
had a WORM in it.
Anyways, yesterday I took them back to the store.
Instead of appologizing for selling this═ancient
shit, they accused me for
buying it at a different store, saying that they
don't even have those
(they had all of them), and that I need a reciept,
where I told them that I
ususally don't keep reciepts for candies - and if I
knew to expect them to
have worms, I would have kept the reciept, then the
other saleswoman came
by and told me that they "sgnili" at my house - I
bought them a week ago.
So I went to their candy basket and opened a Plum
one, which looked
identical to the ones I had, and the salelady told
me that that was just a
broken one, so I offered to open all of them for her
so that she could see.
I told them that I don't need their accusations or
their money, and that
they should keep their candies and eat them
themselves!!!
So don't buy candies at Arcadia!!!!!
And let others know as well !!!!

A similar rip-off is going on in Skokie. There is a Russian candy store on Oakton, seemingly inexpensive, but boy, do they have shitty stuff in there! All stale and God knows where it came from, plus they don't accept credit cards, it's all cash, so you can figure out how much money they're underreporting. Russian business, enough said:)

Лучшие то они лучшие сделанные ТАМ, а не в Бруклине, но вероятность, что окажутся подпорченными точно такая же. Прежде чем радоваться "о! настояшее! оттуда!" неплохо на срок годности смотреть.:)

П.С. Те пару раз, когда надо было вернуть что-то в Аркадию, никаких проблем не имела.:P Извинились и отдали деньги. Не в их защиту (я не адвокат) а просто ради информации...

V Sun-View Markete ia pokupala belorusskie konfeti (novie nazvaniya) kak "Alenka", starie "Zybrenok" "Stolichnie" s likerom. Vkusnie. :)

Дело не в том где продукты сделаны, а в том кто их продаёт, т.е. в чистоплотности хозяев магазинов.... И неважно русские они или нет.
Бруклинские конфеты я люблю. Они вкусные и шоколада в них много.:) Покупал их всегда, на протяжении нескольких лет в Greenwood Market.... А не так давно там сменился хозяин... И я тут же "приобрёл" скисшие конфеты. Хозяин, кстати, грек.
В магазине Shop-n-Save, что находится возле Golf Mill center, хозяева - поляки, а у большинства продуктов с пост-советского пространства, которых там много, срок годности давно истёк, хотя и указан на упаковках. И моё счастье, что я умею читать по русски... Should I go on?
Про русские "food business" я молчу, т.к. там и так всё ясно.
Так что не молчите, выкладывайте - СТРАНА ДОЛЖНА ЗНАТЬ СВОИХ "ГЕРОЕВ" !... :D
